Fairfield’s Leach and Niagara’s Henderson Picked as Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Jalen Leach averaged 22.0 points per game in a 3-0 week of MAAC action for the Stags. Leach shot .571 from the field, including five three-pointers, and .867 from the free throw line. He cracked the 20-point plateau twice, including a career-high 29 points en route to serving Saint Peter's its first and only MAAC loss to date. Leach filled out his statsheet with 3.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game, playing 34.3 minutes per contest.
 
Rookie of the Week
Ahmad Henderson II, Niagara
Fr., Monee, IL, Brother Rice
 
Henderson averaged 21.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as Niagara went 2-1 last week. Henderson scored 27 points vs. Siena, going 9-for-17 from the floor, including three 3's. At Rider, Henderson hit the go-ahead shot in a 14-point performance. Finally, at Mount St. Mary's, Henderson recorded his fifth 20-point game this season with a 23, going 7-for-15 from the field and 3-for-6 from behind the arc. Henderson finished the week shooting 50.0 percent from the field, including 44.4 percent from 3-point land, and 93.3 percent at the line.
