EDISON, NJ (Oct. 15, 2024) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced its 2024-25 men’s and women’s basketball television schedule, which will feature six ESPNU regular season contests.
The MAAC ESPNU slate will feature one game for six consecutive weeks from January 31 through March 6, with four wildcard contests on Friday and a pair of matchups on Thursday. Of the six MAAC Wildcard games this season, five will be a men’s game and one will feature a women’s contest. For the first time since the 2016-17 season, all six ESPNU games will be true wildcard selections, giving the MAAC and ESPN more flexibility to select the best matchup on the schedule, unlike previous seasons when one or more games were predetermined ahead of the season.
The six wildcard dates allow any MAAC basketball regular-season contest on the docket to be flexed to air on ESPNU as part of the MAAC Wildcard Package. ESPN and the MAAC will announce the wildcard game 10 days prior to the scheduled game. The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU, giving the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses.
Games airing on an ESPN platform will also be available on the ESPN App with TV Everywhere credentials. All events will be available for replay on the ESPN App. All other MAAC basketball home games will air on ESPN+, the leading sports streaming service.
