Shoats averaged 16.3 points, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals, and shot 63 percent while leading Siena to a perfect 4-0 week, punctuated by a three-game sweep of the Capital Thanksgiving Classic. The Saints point guard shot better than 50 percent from the field in all four wins and registered three games with three or more steals in a strong all-around performance.
Rookie of the Week
Francis Folefac, Siena
Fr., Lanham, MD, Mt. Zion
Folefac averaged 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds to help lead Siena to a perfect 4-0 week, highlighted by a three-game sweep of the Capital Thanksgiving Classic. The freshman forward shot 64 percent from the field and stuffed the stat sheet, adding 2.0 steals, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 blocks. Folefac also came through in the clutch all week long, dishing out the assist on the go-ahead basket down the stretch Monday night at Holy Cross, hit three free throws in the final 30 seconds of a seven-point victory vs. Longwood Friday, temporarily gave Siena the lead with 90 seconds remaining in an eventual win Saturday at defending Patriot League Champion American, and sank two clutch free throws with 3.3 seconds left to seal a four-point win over Maine Sunday.
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
