Jose Catala once again led the Red Foxes this week, going undefeated (4-0) in his matchups against Holy Cross and Binghamton. In the Red Foxes' 6-1 victory over Holy Cross, Catala and his partner, Gregor Heinemann, were victorious at #1 doubles, defeating their opponents 7-6(4). He also won a three-set victory over his opponent in #1 singles, 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-3. Against Binghamton, Catala, alongside Heinemann, was victorious at #2 doubles, defeating their opponents 6-4. Catala capped off his week with a victorious effort at #1 singles, defeating his opponent, 6(5)-7(7), 6-3, 1(10)-0(8).
Women’s Player of the Week:
Caterina Assi, Marist
So., Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, Saint Bartholomew’s School
Caterina Assi led the Red Foxes to a perfect 2-0 record this past week, playing a pivotal role in the 7-0 sweep of Holy Cross and the dominant 4-1 victory over Binghamton.
Against Holy Cross, Assi, partnered with Vihana Shresta, secured a 6-2 win at #1 doubles. She then capped off the sweep for the Red Foxes with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1 singles.
Against Binghamton, Assi claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory at #1 singles, spearheading the Red Foxes to a decisive 4-1 win over the Bearcats.
The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a six-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-27 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2025 Championships will be the 13
