Sacred Heart Quartet of Pepe, Daria, Grove, Carney, and Manhattan’s Klossner Named MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honorees

Offensive Player of the Week
Matt Pepe, Sacred Heart

Matt Pepe led Sacred Heart offensively in the Pioneers' 2-0 week. He had six goals, scoring a hat trick in each of SHU's games during the week, and was one of the leading scorers in the Pioneers 14-10 win over Wagner. The redshirt sophomore also added three ground balls. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Craig Daria, Sacred Heart

Craig Daria backstopped Sacred Heart to a 2-0 week with wins over Wagner (14-10) and Holy Cross (15-11). He made nine saves in SHU's win over Wagner and followed that up with a career-high, matching 16 saves against Holy Cross on Saturday. He also picked up five ground balls in the two games. 
 
Co-Face-off Specialist of the Week
Casey Klossner, Manhattan
R-Jr., Horseheads, NY, Horseheads
 
During Manhattan’s first victory of the 2026 season against Wagner inside Gaelic Park, Klossner was fantastic in the face-off X, having posted 11-of-14 during faceoffs for 78.5 percent. Additionally, Klossner scooped a season high seven ground balls in the effort on Saturday morning.
 
Co-Face-off Specialist of the Week
Ryan Grove, Sacred Heart

Ryan Grove had another great week for Sacred Heart, leading the face-off duties in back-to-back wins. He went 30-48 (62.5%) from x and had 19 ground balls in the two-game week.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jake Carney, Sacred Heart

Jake Carney had four points in Sacred Heart's two-win week. He scored a hat trick and added an assist for his four points.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship is a five-team, single-elimination championship taking place from April 26 through May 2, 2026. The first round will be hosted by the #4 seed, the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the top overall seed.
