Quinnipiac Captures the 2026 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship Powered by Northeast Beef

The Program’s Ninth Overall Title Since 2014

PRINCETON, NJ (Apr. 26, 2026) – No. 1 Quinnipiac University won the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Tennis Championship on Sunday afternoon at Princeton University Racquet and Fieldhouse in Princeton, NJ. The Bobcats swept No. 2 Mount St. Mary’s University, en route to their second straight MAAC Championship. Quinnipiac secured the program’s ninth overall MAAC title – the fourth in the past five seasons – after also going back-to-back in 2022 and 2023 as well.

Top seeded Quinnipiac dominated No. 2 Mount St. Mary’s, 4-0 in the championship final. The Bobcats gained a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point. The #2 doubles squad of Vera Sekerina and Anagha Shankar beat Emma Perkins and Anna Barlini 6-3 first and then the #1 doubles of Caitlin Flower and Willow Renton took down Venus Tang and Isabella Pescatore 6-4 to gain the one-point edge in the match.
 
In singles action, Quinnipiac took the three matches in the middle of the lineup to claim the win. The first singles point for the Bobcats was earned in the #4 position by Anagha Shankar who handled Emma Perkins 6-4 6-2. Quinnipiac would take the next match just three minutes later, when Isabella Baker toppled Margherita Trolese 6-3 6-2 at the #3 spot. The title clincher for the Bobcats occurred at the #5 position with Vera Sekerina defeating Isabella Pescatore 6-1 7-5 to capture the championship.
 
Quinnipiac improved to 18-6 overall on the season and finished a perfect 10-0 for the second consecutive year against league foes following the two postseason wins.
 
Vera Sekerina was named as the 2026 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Performer.
 
Quinnipiac will earn the MAAC automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. The Bobcats will find out their opponent and match time on Monday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. during the Division I Women’s Tennis Selection Show on NCAA.com.
