Jordan Confessore was named Associate Commissioner for Men's Basketball at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in January 2017. She is entering her ninth year at the MAAC in the 2020-21 season providing strong leadership in a conference that prides itself for excellence in athletics and academics, always with a focus on college basketball. Previously, she served as the Assistant Commissioner for Women’s Basketball since June 2015 after being hired as the Director of Basketball Operations in August 2012.
A former college basketball player herself, Confessore in her role as Associate Commissioner serves on the MAAC senior management staff and is responsible for the conference priority sport of men’s basketball. This includes game and broadcast scheduling, oversight of the annual basketball championship and extends to the MAAC’s hosting of NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Rounds at the league’s partner venues in Albany and Buffalo, NY. As a barrier breaker in the sport of men’s basketball, Jordan is well regarded for her professionalism and operational expertise that includes serving as Tournament Manager of MAAC hosted basketball events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World, the Belfast Classic in Northern Ireland and Basketball Hall of Fame hosted tournaments at the Mohegan Sun Resort and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Confessore serves as the MAAC’s representative on the Collegiate Officiating Consortium which includes the Big Ten Conference, Mid-American Conference, the Horizon League, Summit League and the America East Conference. Additionally, she oversees scheduling of the MAAC broadcast package with ESPN for men’s basketball on ESPNU and the MAAC ESPN3 and ESPN+ School Production Network of some 200 broadcasts.
Jordan is also the Tournament Manager for the annual MAAC Basketball Championships; coordinating operations and assisting in marketing with host arenas and member schools. In 2020, the MAAC initiated a three-year hosting commitment with the world-famous Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. In that role in 2020, she assisted in the unprecedented shutdown of the tournament as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic insuring for the safe removal of student-athletes, coaches and fans from the venue as the country went into a lockdown for many ensuing months.
During her time at the MAAC, Confessore served as the Tournament Manager for the 2020 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Round in Albany, NY (which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Round in Buffalo, NY, the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball East Regional in Albany, NY and the lodging liaison for the 2019 Men’s Frozen Four in Buffalo, NY. She also served as the event planner for the MAAC Honor Roll Dinner, a VIP red carpet event at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Confessore has also participated in the Disney Institute Professional Development and Leadership Training and the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Mock Selection Exercise at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis.
Confessore joined the MAAC staff after serving as an Account Executive/Group Sales Manager at the Gazelle Group. In that role, she acted as an on-site company representative, working with coaches, student-athletes, and administrators, for various Division I college basketball tournaments. She also served as a Sports Marketing Department Intern and a Sports Information Intern at Rutgers University.
Confessore holds her degree in Sports Media from the school of Sports Management and Media at Ithaca College, where she was a four-year women's basketball player. In 2017, she received the Ithaca College Department of Sports Management Distinguished Young Alumnus Award. Confessore also served as a Women in Sports Careers Executive Board Member while attending Ithaca College.
