Tate Kay joined the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as Director of Sport Administration in September 2023.
In his position as Director of Sport Administration, Kay is responsible for overseeing the sports of Women’s Soccer, Swimming and Diving, and Tennisincluding the planning and coordination of conference championships.
Prior to joining the MAAC, Kay served as an administrative intern for the Patriot League. In this role he aided staff in working on multiple special research projects, managing awards processes, developing press releases, assisting in championship planning/execution, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) initiatives, and compliance policy.
Before the Patriot League, in the fall of 2022, Kay was asked to join the Temple Football video staff as a Graduate Assistant two weeks into the season after having served the last five months as a football recruiting assistant. Having not had any real prior experience with football video he was tasked with learning how to use the team’s film/editing software and filming equipment in under a week and overall responsibilities included filming/uploading/editing practices, collecting opponent/NFL film, IT support for all coaches and full-time staff, and AV set-up for meetings in our home facility and at hotels for away games.
Prior to joining Temple Football Kay served as the Administrative Extern for the undergraduate department of Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (STHM) where he provided clerical and administrative support to the department. This included developing email databases, scheduling meetings, conducting research projects as well as assist the marketing department by creating original content for the STHM website and social channels.
Kay has also worked for companies such as DraftKings and Austin FC in part-time capacities.
A native of Spring, Texas, Kay earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020 where he served as a two-year captain for the Texas Quadball team winning a National Championship in 2019. In May 2023 he graduated from Temple University with a master’s degree in sport business with a concentration in data analytics.
