Fairfield’s Filipe, Niagara’s Savoni and Siena’s Arachchige-Jensen Earn Wilson Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Jonathan Filipe, Fairfield

Jonathan Filipe scored three goals and an assist in a win over Canisius, including the game winner. With the scored tied at 1-1, Filipe scored a first-half goal to give his team the lead and followed with two goals in the second half. He also started in the win over Quinnipiac earlier in the week, taking five shots and putting two attempts on goal.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Josh Savoni, Niagara
Jr., Amherstburg, ON, St. Thomas of Villanova Secondary School
 
Savoni earned his second shutout of the season as NU defeated Monmouth, 2-0, on Saturday. Savoni made eight saves in the victory.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jacob Sandun Arachchige-Jensen, Siena
Fr., Svendborg, Denmark, Svendborg Gynasium
 
Arachchige-Jensen led the charge in the Saints' 5-1 rout over Canisius, recording his first career multi-goal game with two goals and an assist.
