EDISON, NJ (November 3, 2021) – Manhattan’s Sydney Harwood and Quinnipiac’s Paulo Soares have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

The Bobcats’ captain assisted on two of Quinnipiac’s four goals in Saturday’s victory over Manhattan in Hamden. Soares has started in all 16 games so far this year at midfield, logging almost 1,200 minutes on the pitch. The Spring 2021 All-MAAC selection has played in 56 career games for Quinnipiac. He has also played with the Cape Verde National Team during his time with the Bobcats.

Graduate Student defender, Harwood is an integral member of the Jaspers defense and a leader on the field, being named a three-time captain. During her career, she has amassed six goals, two assists and has played in 64 games, starting in 62 of them. Her talents extend beyond the field, graduating summa cum laude with a mechanical engineering degree and boasting a 3.90 GPA. Harwood is a member of Epsilon Sigma Pi, Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma, Pi Mu Epsilon, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Mechanical Engineering Women. NCAA women's soccer finalists for the prestigious 2021
Senior CLASS Award ®.
