Marist’s Noriega, Bowery, Fairfield’s Noviello Earn Baseball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week:
Gavin Noriega, Marist
R-Fr., Bronx, NY, Salesian
 
Noriega was red-hot this week, going 12-23 from the plate with a double, triple, two home runs, nine RBI's, and four runs. Noriega also helped lead the Red Foxes to a 4-1 record on the week, including a sweep of Monmouth.
 
Pitcher of the Week:
Jake Noviello, Fairfield
Sr., Franklin, MA, Franklin
 
Noviello hurled the first-ever perfect game in program history as he retired all 21 hitters in a 10-0 seven-inning victory over Saint Peter's. Noviello needed just 71 pitches for his historical achievement with four strikeouts. He had just one three-ball count in the game and also had the best defensive play of the day by grabbing a line drive right up the middle.
 
Rookie of the Week:
Jake Bowery, Marist
Fr., Fairfield, CT, Fairfield Prep
 
The freshman made three relief appearances this week, totaling seven innings while allowing just four hits and one earned run. Bowery also struck out 10 batters with no walks while adding a save.
