HAMDEN, Conn. – Former Quinnipiac men's basketball forward Kevin Marfo ('22) has signed his first professional contract in Italy with Fortitugo Agrigento,
as announced by Tangram Sports Management/the club on July 20, 2022.
Fortitudo Agrigento – located in Agrigento, Sicily – is an Italian professional basketball team in Italy's second division (Serie A2).
The two-time All-MAAC selection played in 86 career games at Quinnipiac, recording 8.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest as a Bobcat on 47.7% shooting. Marfo led the nation in rebounding (13.3 RPG) in 2019-20, averaging a double-double (10.3 PPG/13.3 RPG) en route to an All-MAAC Second Team selection. He spent one year at Texas A&M in 2020-21, then returned to Hamden for his extra season of eligibility this past year.
Marfo averaged a MAAC-best 10.2 RPG to go along with 9.4 PPG, earning a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team once again. The Bergenfield, New Jersey-native posted a league-best 12 double-doubles in 2021-22, leading the way for the Bobcats in both rebounds (316) and assists (120).
For his career, Marfo finished 7th all-time in NCAA Divison I Total Rebound Percentage.
The Bobcats' veteran big man scored 21 points, grabbed 31 rebounds and dished out eight assists over three MAAC Tournament games in Atlantic City – where Quinnipiac became the first-ever 11 seed to reach the MAAC Semifinals.
