Offensive Player of the Week
Courtney Chochol, Quinnipiac
Jr., Alliston, Ontario, Banting Memorial High School
Chochol scored twice in Quinnipiac’s season-opening, 3-0 win at Lafayette on Thursday to lead the way for the Bobcats. The junior forward buried a PK in the 59th minute to give QU the advantage, then scored again in the 78th minute to help clinch the victory. Chochol recorded a team-high four shot attempts in 78 minutes of play.
Defensive Player of the Week
Arden Lembryk, Mount St. Mary’s
Jr., Wayne, NJ, Wayne Valley High School
Lembryk made eight saves, including a sensational stop with 11 seconds remaining, to preserve a 1-1 draw against Western Carolina in Mount St. Mary’s season opener on Thursday. In a full-match effort, the only marker to get past the junior goalkeeper was an own goal from a Western Carolina corner kick opportunity.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Margret Fridriksson, Rider
Fr., Reykjavik, Iceland, The Commercial College of Iceland
Fridriksson had a goal and an assist in the Broncs’ 3-2 road win at Wagner on Thursday, and they both came in the first 18 minutes of her Rider debut. The freshman midfielder first set up Camryn Dees' goal in the fourth minute before giving the lead back to the Broncs with a tally of her own in the 18th minute.

Sam Kersey, Fairfield
Fr., Mashpee, MA, Mashpee Middle-High School
With the score knotted 1-1 late in Fairfield’s season opener vs. UMass on Sunday afternoon, Kersey took a flick from Elle Scott and buried a right-footed blast for the eventual game-winning goal in the 82nd minute. In what was her first career match, Kersey tallied three shots In 62 minutes off the bench.
The 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 30 through November 6. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 3, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
