Bobcats Fall To Brown In NCAA Tournament

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Quinnipiac women's soccer team saw their season come to an end after their 3-0 loss to the Brown Bears in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Sofia Lospinoso made six saves in the losing effort with the Bears having 24 shot attempts in the game.
 
The Bobcats finished the season with a record of 13-4-1, while Brown improved to 12-2-2 and moved on to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

SCORING SUMMARY
 
First Half
  • (15' – Quinnipiac 0, Brown 1) – Brown struck first in the fifteenth minute when Ava Seelenfreund got the ball from Brittany Raphino to give the Bears a one-goal lead.
  • (31' – Quinnipiac 0, Brown 2) – Later in the first half, Brown struck again when Layla Shell found the back of the net to double the lead.
Second Half
  • (90' – Quinnipiac 0, Brown 3) – Brittany Raphino added a third goal for the Bears in the final minute of action.
NOTES
  • Brown outshot the Bobcats, 24-1, with the shots on goal being 9-1 in their favor.
  • The Bears were awarded 11 corner kicks, while the Bobcats were rewarded four.
  • For the second season in a row, the Bobcats season ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
