Fairfield’s Elliott and Krubally and Canisius’ Hanna Earn Molten MAAC Volleyball Weekly Award Honors

Allie Elliot, Fairfield

Sophomore outside hitter Allie Elliott led the Fairfield attack with 4.50 kills per set, hitting .339 on the outside in a 2-0 road weekend as the Stags locked up the MAAC Regular Season Championship for the fifth straight season. Elliott had a double-double in both matches en route to 3.50 digs per set, also adding two blocks, two assists and a service ace to her stat line.
 
Libero of the Week
Jillian Hanna, Canisius
Jr., Kent, OH, Marist

Junior libero Jillian Hanna ended her season on a high note, collecting 44 digs for an average of 5.50 per-set while chipping in eight service aces and six assists. Her best match was against Rider where she had a career-high 30 digs and five service aces.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mamie Krubally, Fairfield
Fr., Lucas, TX, Plano East
 
Mamie Krubally pounded 3.00 kills on .452 hitting in a 2-0 road weekend as the Stags locked up the MAAC Regular Season Championship for the fifth straight season. Krubally added two blocks, two assists and a dig in the sweeps of Saint Peter's and Rider. She hit a scorching .750 with 10 kills on 12 swings at SPU.
 
The 2023 MAAC Volleyball Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 17-19, 2023 at Leo D. Mahoney Arena in Fairfield, CT. Fairfield University will serve as host of the three-day championship with the opening round on Friday, November 17, the semifinals on Saturday, November 18, and the championship match on Saturday, November 19. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
