Siena’s Fitzmaurice, Petersen & Patille Sweep Rawling’s MAAC Softball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Ava Fitzmaurice, Siena
Gr., Greenville, NY, Greenville
 
Fitzmaurice dominated on both sides of the ball during Siena's season-opening doubleheader, going 3-7 with a triple and an RBI at the plate. She would also lead the Saints to an extra-inning victory in game one with an eight-inning, eight strikeout performance that saw only one walk issued and one unearned run allowed.
 
 
Pitcher of the Week
Nicole Patille, Siena
Sr., Ocean View, DE, Laurel
 
Patille led the Saints to victory in game two of the team's doubleheader sweep over Monmouth last Friday with an eight-strikeout performance in five and one-third innings. Patille allowed just one earned run on three hits. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Emma Petersen, Siena
Fr., Phoenix, AZ, Xavier College Preparatory
 
Petersen made her Siena debut by going 1-3 with an RBI single as part of the Saints' 3-1 extra-inning win over Monmouth in game one of the doubleheader. 
 
 
 
The 2023 MAAC Softball Championship is a six-team double elimination tournament taking place between May 10-14, 2023. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
