2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse All-MAAC Teams & Awards Revealed

EDISON, NJ (Apr. 28, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2023 Men's Lacrosse All-MAAC teams and Major Award winners. All awards were voted on by the leagues 10 head coaches.
 
Marist's Jojo Pirreca was named as the 2023 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year. Pirreca takes home outright Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2023 after being named Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023 Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. During the season the Mount Sinai, NY native led the Red Foxes with 33 goals and 17 assists to total 50 points.
 
Mitchell Dunham of Mount St. Mary's was selected as 2023 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. Dunham helped lead The Mount to a share of the MAAC Regular Season title recording 68 groundballs in 15 games played this season.
 
Mount St. Mary's, Connor Beals, was unanimously chosen as the 2023 MAAC Face-off Specialist of the Year. A three-time MAAC Face-off Player of the Week, Beals had 72 groundballs on the season and boasted a .636 face-off win percentage.
 
The unanimous 2023 MAAC Long Stick Midfielder of the Year was Mount St. Mary's, Steven Schmitt. The senior from Cambridge, NY led Mount St. Mary's to a share of the MAAC Regular Season title. Schmitt recorded eight goals, four assists, had .591 shots on goal percentage and 91 groundballs in 15 games.
 
TJ Gravante from Mount St. Mary's was voted as the 2023 MAAC Rookie of the Year. The Frederick, MD native recorded 12 goals and six assists in 13 games this season for The Mount and was a three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week honoree during the season.
 
Coach of the Year recognition went to Manhattan's, John Odierna, who led the Jaspers to a share of the 2023 MAAC Regular Season title and top overall seed in the 2023 MAAC Championship with an overall record of 10-4 and 7-2 MAAC record.

The 2023 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship will take place between April 29 and May 6, 2023. The six-team, single-elimination tournament will open on Saturday, April 29 with the opening round games being hosted by Siena College and Marist College. The semifinals and championship final will be hosted by, Manhattan College, the highest seed in the field and will be played on Thursday, May 4 and Saturday, May 6.
