Edison, NJ (May. 3, 2023) – The 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship will continue Thursday, May 4 and Saturday May 6. The semifinal and final round will be hosted by Manhattan College at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY. The Championship semifinals will air on ESPN+ at 3pm and 7pm, while the title game will take place at 11am on be broadcasted live on ESPNU. The four teams remaining in the field are top seeded- Manhattan College, No. 2 Mount St. Mary’s University, No. 3 Marist College, and No. 4 Siena College.
Manhattan College and Mount St. Mary's shared the 2023 MAAC Regular Season title with a record of 7-2 in MAAC play. Manhattan's 9-3 win over Mount St. Mary's on 3/11 gives the Jaspers the top seed in this year's Men's Lacrosse Championship. Mount St. Mary's comes into the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will look to claim the Men's Lacrosse Championship title in The Mount's inaugural season in the MAAC. This Mount St. Mary’s team features the 2023 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, Mitchell Dunham, Face-off Specialist of the Year, Connor Beals, Long Stick Midfielder of the Year, Steven Schmitt, and Rookie of the Year, TJ Gravante.

2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship- Semifinal Round
In the opening game of the semifinal round of the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, No. 2 Mount St. Mary’s will take on No. 3 Marist. Mount St. Mary’s comes into the match as the No. 2 seed which granted them a first-round bye. No. 3 Marist defeated No. 6 Quinnipiac in the opening round by a score of 29-19 setting a program record in the process. Led by 2023 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, Jojo Pirreca and Second Team All-MAAC selection, Jamison Embury, the Red Foxes look to continue their hot streak on the offensive end. During the regular season Mount St. Mary’s defeated Marist 12-9 in Poughkeepsie, NY, led by the play of First Team All-MAAC honoree, Jake Krieger, and midfielder Kelly Gouin.

2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship- Semifinal Round
The top seed in the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, Manhattan, takes on No.4 Siena in the second semifinal matchup. As the top seed in the tournament, Manhattan will host both the semifinal and final rounds of the MAAC Championship. Manhattan comes into the match led by the trio of First Team All-MAAC performers, Kyle Gucwa, Christian Clifford, and Joseph Persico. The Siena Saints enter the contest having secured their first post season victory since the 2014 season, after defeating Sacred Heart in a hard-fought opening round contest. Siena looks to go 2-0 over the Jaspers as they took down Manhattan 10-6 at Gaelic Park in their lone meeting this season. With the 2023 MAAC Coach of the Year, John Odierna, at the helm, Manhattan, the reigning MAAC Champions look to defend their title and avenge their 10-6 loss to Siena that took place earlier this season.
