Mount’s Clarke and Paredes and Fairfield’s Walsh Earn Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Award Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Sydoney Clarke, Mount St. Mary's

Senior forward Sydoney Clarke posted goals in each of the Mount's first games on the way to the first 2-0 start in program history. Opened the second half of scoring with a breakaway strike on Hampton in the 62nd minute, followed by a 24th minute strike to help the Mount go up 2-0 on Delaware State.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Adelaide Paredes, Mount St. Mary's
Fr., Newark, NJ, East Side
 
Freshman goalkeeper Adelaide Paredes delivered a pair of clean sheets in her first two collegiate starts. She sparked the defense to 180 minutes of shutout soccer, which limited the competitors to only 12 shots, with all three on-target shots being saved by Paredes. Helped the Mount achieve first 2-0 start in program history.
 
Rookie of the Week
Ashlyn Walsh, Fairfield
Fr., Pelham, N.H., Pelham
 
Freshman forward Ashlyn Walsh scored two goals, both game-winners in Fairfield's 2-0 week. She broke a 1-1 tie with a second half goal against Holy Cross and tallied the lone goal in the win over reigning NEC Champions Central Connecticut State.
 
The 2024 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 3-10, 2024. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The quarterfinals will take place on Sunday, November 3, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 7, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 10.
