Megan Andersen averaged 32.5 points per game, dropping 30 in both of Fairfield's victories during opening week. In the win at Villanova, Andersen erupted for a career-high 35 points and followed that performance by draining a personal-best six 3-pointers against the reigning Patriot League Champions Lehigh. She also hauled down 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Andersen shot 60 percent overall and 57 percent from 3-point range over the two games.
Rookie of the Week
Francesca Schiro, Siena
Fr., Hillsborough, NJ, Hillsborough
Francesca Schiro shined in her first two collegiate games, averaging team highs in points (17.0), assists (3.5), and steals (2.5), while leading the Saints shooting .455 from the field. Schiro poured in a career- and game-high 28 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field and 2-for-3 from three against UMass on Nov. 8. She also led the team with six assists and three steals in the game and added four rebounds to her line. Her 28 points scored were the third-most in a single game in the MAAC this season and the most among rookies—11 more than the next.
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
