Katey L'Amoreaux averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in Fairfield's 1-1 showing in the WBCA Challenge. In the win over American Athletic Preseason favorites South Florida, she neared a career-high with 28 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in being name the Most Outstanding Player. Against nationally ranked North Carolina, she scored 15 points, with eight assists, and six rebounds.
Rookie of the Week
Sophie Nascimento, Sacred Heart
FY., Scarsdale, NY, Ursuline School
The Pioneers sixth woman, Sophie Nascimento came off the bench to score her first double figure game with 15 points, 12 of which came in the second half, in Sacred Heart’s win over in-state rival CCSU. Nascimento finished the game shooting 4-of-8 from the field, with one three-pointer, and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line. In addition, she added two assists and a steal.
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
