The Rider Duo of Santiago and Mason, Sacred Heart’s Pair of Villarreal and Short, Collect Jersey Mike’s MAAC Volleyball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Kiannisha Santiago, Rider

Santiago continued her dominant senior season, averaging 4.92 kills, 1.67 digs, and 0.92 blocks per set to lead Rider to three wins. After recording 17 kills on .433 hitting in just three sets at Saint Peter's, she posted a career-high 25 kills in four sets against Niagara. To wrap up the week, Santiago had 17 kills, including four in the fifth set as the Broncs topped Canisius. She also added seven blocks and seven digs in the match against Canisius.
 
Libero of the Week
Miliani Villarreal, Sacred Heart
So., Murrieta, CA, Vista Murrieta
 
Miliani Villarreal averaged 5.58 digs per set to lead the Pioneers over three matches last week. She collected 67 total digs on the week, including a career-high and single match record for a five-set match with 42 at Siena over the weekend. Villarreal also added 29 assists over the three matches, including 11 each against Marist and Siena.
 
Setter of the Week
Makenna Mason, Rider
Jr., Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head
 
Mason averaged 11.50 assists and 3.08 digs per set, recording three double-doubled, in a 3-0 week for the Broncs. She started the week with 30 assists and 11 digs against Saint Peter's. In four sets against Niagara, the junior had 58 assists and 14 digs. The 58 assists are the most by any player in the MAAC and third-most by any player in the country this season in a four-set match. She finished the week by recording 50 assists, 12 digs, and 5 kills in the five-set win over Canisius.

Rookie of the Week
Ryleigh Short, Sacred Heart
FY., Canyon Lake, CA, Murrieta Valley
 
Ryleigh Short led Sacred Heart’s offensive attack across three matches last week with 43 combined kills, averaging 3.58 per set. She added 38 digs, three assists, six aces and eight total blocks across the three matches. Short finished with double figures in all three matches, with a high for the week of 17 at Marist on Friday. Her three-matches this week in double figures gives her 12-straight heading into the final home weekend of the regular season.
 
The 2025 MAAC Volleyball Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 18 - November 24, 2025. The first round will be hosted by the #3 and #4 seeds. The semifinal round and championship final will be hosted by the #1 seed. The semifinals can be played between November 21-23, and the championship final can be played between November 22-24.
