EDISON, NJ, (Nov. 10, 2025) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) today announced the recipients of 2025 Men’s Soccer All-MAAC Teams and Major Awards, voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.
Sacred Heart headlined major award honorees with three winners, while Saint Peter’s and Siena captured the two remaining awards.
Highlighting major award winners was 2025 MAAC Golden Boot winner Tim Strele from Saint Peter’s University. A senior forward from Fort Lee, NJ, Strele was the top point scorer in the MAAC this year, leading the league offensively in goals, goals per game, points, points per game, game-winning goals and penalty kicks. He scored a MAAC-high 12 goals (.800 goals average), amassing 24 points (1.60 points average) on 34 shots. Strele was the league’s only double digit goal scorer in 2025, and his four game-winning goals were tied for the MAAC lead. Nationally, he ranked sixth in goals and goals average, while ranking eighth in the NCAA in game-winning goals and 18
th in total points. Strele becomes the Peacocks sixth Offensive Player of the Year in program history, the first since Dominic Laws won the award in back-to-back seasons during 2019 and the 2020-21 season.
2025 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to Sacred Heart’s Daniel Losfablos. A graduate student, Losfablos appeared and started in 15 matches for the MAAC Regular Season champions. A native of Zaragoza, Spain he anchored a defense that allowed just six goals in MAAC contests and 16 goals overall this season, both of which ranked first in the conference. Losfablos and the Pioneers defense recorded clean sheets in half of their league games during the season, which led the MAAC, and the mark also tied for first in the conference overall. On the offensive side of the pitch, he scored three goals on 17 shots, registering six points, and had two game-winning goals. Losfablos becomes the first ever Defensive Player of the Year award recipient for Sacred Heart in the MAAC.
Sacred Heart goalkeeper, Luca Marinelli, was selected as the 2025 MAAC Golden Glove winner, awarded annually to the league’s best goalie. Hailing from Milford, CT, Marinelli made 14 starts in net for the MAAC Regular Season champs, logging 1233:13 minutes in goal, while going 8-1-3 overall with five shutouts. He recorded 41 saves (.804 save percentage) allowing just 10 goals (0.73 goals against average). On the MAAC leaderboard, Marinelli ranked first in goals against average, first in shutouts per game, tied for first in total shutouts, second in save percentage, sixth in goalie minutes played, and eighth in total saves. Marinelli is the first member of Sacred Heart to capture the top goalkeeper award in the MAAC.
Martin Piedeleu from Siena University was chosen as the 2025 MAAC Rookie of the Year. A freshman midfielder from Brussels, Belgium, Piedeleu tallied 10 points, four assists, and three goal with 16 starts in all 16 matches during his rookie campaign at Siena. His four assists ranked tied for ninth on the MAAC leaderboard. Piedeleu totaled 37 shots, eighth in the MAAC, recorded a shot accuracy of .432, ninth in the MAAC, and he averaged 1.00 shots on goal per game, 10
th in the MAAC. He is the second consecutive Rookie of the Year from Siena – Dren Dobruna won the award in 2024 – and the program’s sixth overall winner of the award.
Sacred Heart head coach, Anthony Anzevui was voted as the 2025 MAAC Coach of the Year by his peers. In just his third season at the helm of the Pioneers and the program’s second season as a member of the MAAC Anzevui, led the Pios to the MAAC Regular Season championship after going unbeaten in conference play with a 7-0-3 record (24 points) and tied for a league-best overall record of 8-3-5, securing the first MAAC regular season trophy in program history. Sacred Heart capped off the year by scoring its most points since 2011 and they were the first MAAC squad to go unbeaten in league play since Fairfield in 2018. Under Anzevui’s guidance in 2025, Sacred Heart led the conference in won-lost-tied percentage, team goals against average, and shutout percentage.
Fairfield and Iona led the way with seven All-MAAC selections apiece, while Sacred Heart was next with six, which included a league-high five choices to the All-MAAC First unit, and Siena followed with five All-MAAC recipients.

The 2025 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 9-16, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 9, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 13, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 16.
