Quinnipiac’s Zimmerman and Merrimack’s Kennedy Win Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Jaden Zimmerman led Quinnipiac to a 2-0 MAAC start last week, after stuffing the stat sheet with 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. Zimmerman posted an identical 19 point and six rebound performances in both wins at Iona and against Rider. He also shot a combined 15-of-30 from the floor. Zimmerman is averaging 17.0 points per game to lead the Bobcats so far in 2025-26.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kevair Kennedy, Merrimack

Freshman Kevair Kennedy played 73 minutes this week including a full 40 against Rider on Thursday. Against Rider, he scored 19 points making six shots from the field and six shots from the free throw line. He had three rebounds, assists, and steals each. Against Fairfield on Sunday Kennedy shot 6-10 from the field scoring 20 points and he made eight free throws. He had four rebounds and four assists to go with two steals. Kennedy ended his week averaging 19.5 ppg (39 points), shooting 12-25 from the field.
 
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
