Willis, Lesler, and Grube Collect MAAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Player of the Week
CJ Willis, Quinnipiac
Sr., Auburn, MA, Bridgton Academy
 
CJ Willis started all four games for the Bobcats last week and went 9-for-15 (.600) to lead the team. He earned at least two hits in all four contests and scored at least one run in every game, totaling seven scored runs. Willis hit three home runs and drove in eight RBIs, leading the team in both of those categories over the last week.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Kyle Lesler, Fairfield
Gr., Clifton, NJ, Clifton
 
Lesler allowed just one hit while striking out six and walking two and winning the rubber game in the series against Siena. He pitched 6.0 innings, facing 19 batters, and allowing a .053 opponent batting average.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sam Grube, Mount St. Mary's
Fr., Mechanicsburg, PA, Cedar Cliff
 
Grube went 4-for-11 with five RBIs, two home runs, and three stolen bases against Niagara this past weekend. Grube's two long balls occurred in the same inning during game two, with Grube hitting out a leadoff solo shot and as the lie up turned over, he hit out a three-run homerun to cap of a nine run first inning for the Mountaineers.
 
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Championship is an eight-team, single and double elimination championship, that will take place at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY on May 20-24. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination, games 3-12 will be double elimination and all rounds will reseed. This will be the fourth straight season that the championship is hosted at Clover Stadium.
