MAAC Announces 2025-26 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

EDISON, NJ (Aug. 25, 2025) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2025-26 women's basketball conference schedule.
 
MAAC Basketball Schedule Quick Facts:
 
  • With 13 full member schools, the MAAC will play an unbalanced conference schedule for the second consecutive season during the 2025-26 campaign.
  • All 13 teams will play a 20-game MAAC schedule, which will include 10 home games and 10 road games in addition to having two bye dates.
  • Each team will play eight opponents twice in a home-home series (16 games).
  • The remaining four contests on each team’s schedule will be single games against the remaining four opponents, featuring two home contests and two road contests.
  • Each school is guaranteed to play their closest geographic opponent twice.
 
2025-26 Women’s Schedule Notes:
 
  • The women’s schedule will start on Friday, December 19 and end on Saturday, February 28.
  • The women will once again play a Thursday/Saturday format in all but two weeks during the conference stanza.
  • The pair of weeks that will not be played on the normal Thursday/Saturday schedule will include a Friday/Sunday game schedule to start league play on December 19 and December 21 and a Wednesday/Saturday format on January 14 and 17.
  • Additionally, the conference schedule will include a pair of Monday games highlighted by five games on December 29 and a full slate of games on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 19).
  • The MAAC slate will begin with the December portion of the schedule on Friday, December 19 with a full six game docket, with games being hosted by Canisius University, Iona University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, and Rider University.
  • The MAAC ESPNU television schedule and start times will be announced at a later date.
     
2026 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships Notes:
 
  • The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships at Atlantic City's Historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall for the seventh consecutive year dating back to 2020.
  • For the second straight year, the basketball championship field will feature the league’s top-10 teams and not all 13 full members.
  • 2026 will mark the first time the tournament will start prior to the week of selection Sunday since the championships moved to Atlantic City, moving up a week to Thursday, March 5 through Tuesday, March 10.
  • The women’s championship final will be a standalone game separate from the men on Monday, March 9.
  • This will be first time the women’s final will not be on the same day as the men since the 2010 championships when the women’s game was played on a Sunday (March 7, 2010) and the men’s game occurred on a Monday (March 8, 2010).
  • The ESPN network and start time for the women’s championship game will be announced at a later date.
