Jersey Mike’s MAAC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners Announced

Player of the Week
Doga Diraz, Siena
Jr., Ankara, Turkey, Incek Doga College/Oregon State (Karayollari)
 
Doga Diraz was named to the Altoona Grand Red Flash Classic All-Tournament Team after totaling 50 kills on a .252 hitting percentage with nine digs, six aces and three blocks against Saint Francis (PA), Lafayette and Youngstown State over the weekend. Diraz had a career-high 21 kills against Youngstown State and a career-high four aces in the win against Lafayette.
 
Libero of the Week
Mia Schaefer, Niagara

Mia Schaefer recorded 68 digs and 11 assists in three games during the Eastern Michigan Tournament over the weekend. Schaefer made over 20 digs in two out of the three matches, logging 29 digs against Valpo and 22 versus Eastern Michigan.

Ella Bourque, Canisius

Senior Ella Bourque tallied 110 assists over 11 sets across three matches in the UAlbany Invitational this past weekend. Bourque matched her career-high on Saturday evening against UAlbany, dishing out 55 assists in a five set defeat to the Great Danes.

Caelyn Dumas, Marist

Caelyn Dumas was named to the Blue Raider Bash All-Tournament Team after an outstanding weekend. Dumas averaged 8.22 assists and 1.56 dig per set in the Red Foxes' three matches. In Marist's three-set victory over UT Martin on Saturday, Dumas filled the stat sheet with 31 assists, 10 digs, two blocks, two kills, and an ace. It was her first collegiate double-double, and she set career highs for digs and blocks. Dumas ranks fourth in the MAAC with 8.05 assists per set this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Julia Leonardo, Iona
Fr., Attleboro, MA, Attleboro
 
Rookie outside hitter Julia Leonardo led Iona to a 2-1 weekend at the Seton Hall Invitational in South Orange, NJ, this past weekend. She had a breakout performance, pacing the Gaels with 3.25 kills and 0.88 blocks per set while hitting an impressive .333. Leonardo averaged 3.0 kills per set in the win over NJIT and contributed eight kills and five digs against Seton Hall. She closed the tournament with her first collegiate double-digit kill effort, tallying 12 kills and a team-best six blocks in the sweep of Central Connecticut, while also going perfect on 12 serve receptions.
 
The 2025 MAAC Volleyball Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 18 - November 24, 2025. The first round will be hosted by the #3 and #4 seeds. The semifinal round and championship final will be hosted by the #1 seed. The semifinals can be played between November 21-23, and the championship final can be played between November 22-24.
