Madison Roman made it five straight games with a double-double this Saturday in the win over Siena. She scored 21 points, shooting 7-for-14 from the field. Roman made all seven of her free throw opportunities and came down with 13 rebounds. She flirted with her first career triple-double coming away with a season high six assists. In the Warriors overtime win over Marist earlier in the week, Roman scored 14 and shot 50% from the field again. She added on 13 rebounds and played 43 minutes. In the two games last week Roman averaged 17.5 points, 13 rebound, and 4 assists.
Rookie of the Week
Alena Cofield, Rider
Fr., Langhorne, PA, Neshaminy
Alena Cofield averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Broncs. Against Siena, she hit the go-ahead three with 1:15 remaining that held up as the winning basket for three of her career-high 18 points in the 61-59 Rider victory. She then had 14 points and a career-high five assists against Marist.
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
