2026 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships Set for this Week at SPIRE Academy

GENEVA, OH (Feb. 9, 2026) – The 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships are set for this week from Wednesday through Saturday, February 11-14, 2026. The championships return to SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio for the third straight year dating back to 2024.
 
Fairfield University enters the championships as favorites on both the men’s and women’s sides according to the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. In 2025, Niagara University claimed both the men’s and women’s championships, making the Purple Eagles the fifth program in league history to sweep both team titles, the first to complete the feat since Marist in 2008. On the men’s side, Niagara scored 653.5 points, edging out Marist University by 32 points. The championship for the Purple Eagles men’s squad ended the program’s 31-year championship drought, having last won the league crown in 1994. The preseason favorites for the men, Fairfield, finished in third place at the 2025 championship and will be seeking its program’s first ever title in 2026. On the women’s side, Niagara scored 766 points over the championship’s four days, 169 more than runner-up Fairfield, en route to the program’s third overall MAAC crown over the past four years, winning in 2022, 2024, and 2025. The women’s preseason favorites, Fairfield, has been the championship runner-up in back-to-back years. Overall, the Stags have won four MAAC Championships in program history, last winning the league trophy in 2023, following three straight championships from 2018 through 2020.
