Merrimack’s Roman and Siena’s Tucker Garner Final Air Force Reserve MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards of the Season

Junior forward Madison Roman scored a total of 47 points (23.5 ppg) in the last week of the regular season. In her first win of the week, Roman put up 25 against Canisius. She shot just over 50% from the field making seven shots. She tacked on nine rebounds finishing just shy of a double-double. Her 25 point day was one point shy of tying her season high. In the season finale win against Niagara, Roman posted 22 points, shooting 71% from the field. Her 10 made shots is a season high. Roman racked up 17 rebounds in the win over the Purple Eagles. The two games this week marked the first time this season scoring over 20 points in two straight games. She has scored over 20 points in four of her last six games. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Kaiya Rain Tucker, Siena

Kaiya Rain Tucker turned in her third consecutive week averaging a double-double, posting 13.5 rebounds and 11 points per game to power Siena to a 2-0 stretch. The freshman recorded her fifth double-double of the season in Thursday’s win at Rider, erupting for a career-high 17 rebounds while adding 13 points in a dominant performance on the glass. She followed that effort with her eighth double-figure rebounding game of the year on Saturday against Marist, pulling down a team-high 10 boards and finishing just one point shy of another double-double with nine. Tucker also anchored the defensive end, swatting two shots in each contest to total four blocks on the week. 
 
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 2026 will be the seventh consecutive year Boardwalk Hall will host the annual championship dating back to 2020. For the second straight season, the championship field will feature the conference's top 10 teams. Additionally, with the shift of the basketball championship schedule to a week earlier, the women’s championship game will be a standalone contest on Monday, March 9, while the men’s championship game will air live nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10.
