Siena’s Yates and Albany’s Thornton Earn Levy Recognition Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Month

Yates held an impressive 72.25 stroke average through four rounds of play in the month of September, recording three rounds of par or better and going +0.75 vs. Par. The Senior tied for fifth individually at the Cornell Invitational with a 36-hole score of -1, 141.
 
Women’s Golfer of the Month

Throughout September's three competitions, Amber has finished first at two of them. Most recently, she broke or tied three UAlbany records for a first-place finish at the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 25-26). After earning a +1 during the first round, Thornton broke the 18-hole record with a 66 (-6) for the second round. That day, she tied the 36-hole record of 139. On Saturday, Thornton scored a 71 (-1) to break the 54-hole record by 10 strokes with a tournament-winning 210. She opened the fall season with the Crosstown Challenge (Sept. 12) win when Siena visited UAlbany for a dual.
