Men’s Offensive Player of the Week:
Sean Westley, St. Bonaventure
Sr., Whitby, Ontario, The Hill Academy
Westley scored the game-winning goals in two thrilling wins this week, 9-8 at VMI and 13-12 vs. Bellarmine, finishing the week with 6 goals, 5 assists and 11 points. He scored the game-winner in OT at VMI Saturday for a 9-8 win, finishing with 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points
Westley also posted a hat trick and added two assists for 5 points in a win over Bellarmine, also adding two caused turnovers and two GB. He posted two goals in the final 5 minutes vs. Bellarmine, including the game-winner.
Men’s Defensive Player of the Week:
Brett Dobson, St. Bonaventure
Sr., Oshawa, Ontario, The Hill Academy
Brett Dobson made 36 saves with a .643 save percentage in a 2-0 week. He stopped 19 shots in a 13-12 win over Bellarmine Tuesday and had 5 groundballs. Dobson logged 17 saves in a 9-8 overtime victory at VMI Saturday, including a game-saving stop with three seconds left in regulation to force OT.
Men’s Face-Off Player of the Week:
Demitri George, Quinnipiac
Sr., West Simsbury, CT, Westminster
George won 20-of-27 (74.0%) face-offs this week for the Bobcats on Friday night at Sacred Heart. He also led QU with 11 ground balls. The senior is 72-for-117 (61.5%) from the face-off x so far this year. He leads the MAAC in both FO winning % and ground balls per game so far this year.
Men’s Rookie of the Week:
Colin Kelly, Canisius
R-Fr., Syracuse, NY, Christian Brother Academy
Kelly tallied seven goals during the Griffs’ matchups against nationally-ranked foes Michigan and Denver last week. In the contest against the No. 17-ranked Wolverines, Kelly posted his second four-goal performance of the season. He also chipped in a season-high four ground balls. During the Griffs’ matchup with No. 14 Denver, Kelly recorded his fourth consecutive hat trick to open the season, becoming the first Canisius player to record a hat trick in each of the first four games of the season since the 2001 campaign.
