Top-seeded Siena punched its ticket to the MAAC Championship game with a hard-fought 12–11 win over Merrimack in a dramatic semifinal matchup.
The Saints built momentum early and were able to hold off multiple Merrimack pushes, but this one came down to the final minutes. Siena maintained a slim lead late before a tense finish that tested their composure on both ends of the field. The biggest moment of the game came in the closing minutes when the Saints locked in defensively, preserving the one-goal advantage to secure the win. Offensively, Siena was led by a strong showing from its veteran core. Patrick Linton paced the attack with four goals, while Travis Fry added a hat trick and an assist to help power the Saints.
Merrimack kept the pressure on throughout, staying within striking distance and threatening late, but Siena’s resilience proved to be the difference. The Saints executed when it mattered most, winning key possessions down the stretch to hold on.

Hickey Field | Loudonville, NY
Box Score

Marist used a decisive third-quarter surge and efficient offense to defeat Sacred Heart 12–8. Sacred Heart came out firing, grabbing a 3–2 lead after the first quarter and striking for the game’s opening goal less than a minute after the opening whistle. However, Marist responded with a four-goal run to close the half and take a 6–5 lead into the break. The turning point came in the third quarter, where Marist completely shut down Sacred Heart while scoring four straight goals to build a 10–5 advantage—effectively putting the game out of reach.
Statistically, Marist’s edge came from offensive efficiency and possession. They outshot Sacred Heart 44–41 and held a clear advantage in shots on goal (24–16), forcing 12 saves from the Sacred Heart keeper. While Sacred Heart actually controlled several possession metrics—winning ground balls (32–23) and faceoffs (16–8)—they couldn’t convert those opportunities, going 0-for-6 on extra-man chances.
In the end, Marist’s ability to capitalize on key runs, especially the six unanswered goals spanning the second and third quarters, proved to be the difference in a game that was otherwise fairly even on paper.
