EDISON, NJ (May 18, 2022) – Canisius’ Erin Hufford and Saint Peter’s’ Dylan Powell have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Hufford was a COSIDA Academic All-District First Team and MAAC All-Championship Team selection, adding to her award haul for the 2022 season. The MAAC Player of the Year and All-MAAC First Team honoree paced the league with a .392 batting average, 29 stolen bases and a .443 on-base percentage. The Cheektowaga, N.Y., native also ranks in the top six in the league in both hits (60) and runs scored (32). A three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, Hufford is working towards her graduate degree in applied nutrition after earning her bachelor's degree in health and wellness from Canisius.

Dylan Powell had a tremendous weekend for the Peacocks at the ECAC/IC4A's, breaking a school record that has stood since 2013. He placed 9th overall in the Hammer Throw with 51.60m, which is also now a personal collegiate-best for Powell in the event.
