MAAC Launches Voting Initiatives with ALL IN

EDISON, NJ (Sept. 22, 2022) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) today announced a league-wide partnership to join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN), a national initiative of Civic Nation, that recognizes colleges and universities for their commitment to nonpartisan democratic engagement efforts and increasing student voting rates. ALL IN encourages higher education institutions to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship, make participation a core value on their campus, and cultivate generations of engaged citizens.

“The MAAC and its member institutions are proud to partner with ALL IN,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “As a league, we have made great progress with our efforts in encouraging student-athletes to register to vote with the MAAC SAAC Voter Registration Initiative. We believe that this partnership with ALL IN will only enhance our efforts and increase MAAC student-athlete voting rates.”

"Knowing how to be an engaged participant in our democracy is a life skill that every student should learn. We are grateful to the MAAC and its member institutions for teaming up with ALL IN to ensure that student-athletes, and every student in the conference, has the support and resources they need to make their voices heard this election season,” ALL IN Campus Challenge Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives Stephanie King said.

By joining ALL IN, the MAAC institutions are making the commitment to developing and implementing an action plan to improve nonpartisan civic engagement at each campus with the assistance of a designated committee of relevant stakeholders on their campus. Participation in ALL IN will also be considered part of the school’s community service efforts that contribute to the league’s SAAC Cup.

As a nonpartisan organization, ALL IN does not support or oppose candidates for public office or take a stand for or against any political party. It encourages active and informed participation in American democracy.
