Rider’s Snyder & Schein-Becker Claim MAAC Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Tamrat Snyder, Rider

Tamrat Snyder broke the Rider record in the 800m at the Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt University this past weekend. Snyder finished 12th overall in Nashville posting a time of 1:49.32, breaking his own previous program record of 1:49.53 which he posted earlier this year at the Villanova Invitational. Snyder currently holds each of the top 3 best times in school history for the indoor 800m (1:50.38, 1:49.53, 1:49.32) as he also broke the record in 2022 at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
 
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Teagan Schein-Becker, Rider

For the fourth time this season, Teagan Schein-Becker has re-written the Rider record books as she broke her own mark in the mile with a time of 4:34.63 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University. Schein-Becker finished 14th at the event and broke her own previous record by over two seconds, making it the second time this season Schein-Becker has been able to break the mile record.
 
 
The 2023 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 18-19, at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center in New York, New York. The two-day meet will be hosted by Manhattan College and will be held at the Armory for the 19th consecutive year.
