Lomascolo, Siena Track Teams Earn Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

Recent Siena Graduate Became First Saint to Take Home Individual All-Academic Honors for Track

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Recent Siena Cross Country & Track graduate Olivia Lomascolo took home yet another academic honor to cap her collegiate career, while both Siena Track squads were once again honored for strong academics by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday.

Lomascolo became the first Saint in program history to receive individual NCAA Division I Outdoor Track All-Academic honors, while both the men's and women's track teams were recognized for the eighth straight year following the re-emergence of both track programs as varsity sports in 2016.

A native of Ballston Lake, New York, Lomascolo recently graduated from Siena's Dual Degree Nursing Program, and also received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during cross country season. She was recently named one of three collegiate recipients of the 2023 Capital District Sports Women of the Year award.

The women's program held an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.64 following the 2022-23 academic year to rank 24th among all NCAA Division I women's track programs, while the men's team recorded a team mark of 3.48 to rank tied for 28th nationally. A record 30 student athletes were named to the 2023 MAAC Indoor and Outdoor Track All-Academic Team, including 15 runners from each program.

The Saints have also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors during cross country season in each of the last nine years.
