HAMDEN, CT (Oct. 4, 2025) – Day two action of the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Masters Tournament ended on Saturday, October 4, at Quinnipiac Athletic & Recreation Center on the campus of Quinnipiac University. The finals are set for both men’s and women’s singles, while the first round and quarterfinals round of doubles action wrapped.
Notes and Nuggets:
- Reigning MAAC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and 2025 Championship MVP, Willow Renton of Quinnipiac earned a spot in the women’s singles tournament final.
- Ola Irla Bartyzel of Sacred Heart also made the women’s final and is in the doubles semifinals, after finishing as the doubles runner up last season.
- Following an upset win over the top overall seed in the men’s bracket, Sviatoslav Koliadynskyi gives Siena a player in the tournament final for the second straight season.
- Matteus Froberg Dahlin clinched his spot in the men’s final after ending Marist’s Ian Layton Cinderella run, which included wins on the No. 8 seed and No. 2 seed.
- In the doubles bracket, Fairfield secured three out of the four spots in the semifinals round, with Anna Neyestani/Maria Gell and Regina Herrera/Sophia Harris advancing in the women’s bracket while Alex Aguiar/Diego Alcala secured a spot in the men’s bracket.
- As teams, Fairfield and Quinnipiac lead the way with three participants remaining – three doubles teams for the Stags, two doubles team and one singles players for the Bobcats.

The 2025 MAAC Masters Tournament will conclude on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. with singles finals and the semifinal round and finals of the doubles bracket. All competition for the remainder of the tournament will take place at Quinnipiac Athletic & Recreation Center in Hamden, Connecticut.
The 2025 MAAC Masters Tournament is a singles and doubles single-elimination tournament per gender, that will be held on Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Quinnipiac Athletic & Recreation Center in Hamden, Connecticut and at Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts in Fairfield, Connecticut. Quinnipiac University will serve as the host of the tournament for the second straight year and Fairfield University for the first.
