Fairfield’s Aguiar Named Jersey Mike’s MAAC Tennis Player of the Month

Alex Aguiar teamed with Diego Alcala to go 1-2 at the ITA Conference Masters Tournament. The pair was representing Fairfield and the MAAC as the winners of the MAAC Masters Tournament. After falling in the opening round, Aguiar and Alcala bounced back in the back draw to defeat DePaul's Alejandro Gandini, the reigning Big East Player of the Year, and Thomas Giles – the third-seeded team in the bracket – by a score of 6-4, 6-4. The Fairfield duo fell in the consolation bracket semifinals to Belmont's Sabi Roi and Stefan Vedovelli – the eventual winners of the back draw.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a four-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-26 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2026 Championships will be the 14th consecutive time the event is held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
