Quinnipiac Women’s Sweep, Fairfield and Rider Men’s Win Titles at the 2025 MAAC Masters Tournament

HAMDEN, CT (Oct. 5, 2025) – The 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Masters Tournament concluded on Sunday, October 5, at Quinnipiac Athletic & Recreation Center on the campus of Quinnipiac University. Quinnipiac women’s swept both the singles and doubles championships, while Rider University captured the men’s singles championship and Fairfield University secured the men’s doubles championship.

Notes and Nuggets:
  • Reigning MAAC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and 2025 MAAC Championship MVP, Willow Renton of Quinnipiac topped Sacred Heart’s Ola Irla Bartyzel in the women’s singles tournament final, continuing her dominance against MAAC opponents.
  • In women’s doubles play, Renton combined with Caitlin Flower to take down Bartyzel and Ava Nelson to win the doubles crown.
  • Renton becomes the first player to win both the singles and doubles Masters in MAAC history, and she along with Flower are the first Masters champions for the Bobcats.
  • This also marked the second straight season Bartyzel was runner-up in the doubles bracket.
  • Rider’s Matteus Froberg Dahlin took down Siena’s Sviatoslav Koliadynskyi in straight sets to capture the men’s singles title.
  • Dahlin had a near-perfect tournament, only dropping one set through four tournament matches to become the Broncs’ first champion at the MAAC Masters.
  • In the men’s doubles bracket, Fairfield’s Alex Aguiar and Diego Alcala defeated Ian Layton and Gregor Heinemann of Marist.
  • Aguiar and Alcala are the first doubles and men’s champions for Fairfield, joining teammate Anna Neyestani, who won the 2024 women’s singles championship last year.
