Iona’s Riccio, Todd, and Fiorino, Saint Peter’s Nunez, Robinson, and Austin-Burrows Win Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Junior Juan Nunez delivered a standout week across the Peacocks’ meets against Manhattan and Iona, earning three individual victories and helping lead multiple winning relays. Nunez opened the week by sweeping the backstroke events in the home win over Manhattan, taking the 100-  in 53.19, for a new season best and the 200- backstroke in 1:56.89, while also contributing to Saint Peter’s first-place 200- medley relay (leadoff split: 24.84) and 400 freestyle relay (anchor split :48.86). He followed with another dominant performance at Iona, capturing gold in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:07.84, winning by more than eight seconds and a new season best.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Dylan Riccio, Iona

Against Saint Peter's Senior Diver Dylan notched a school record and NCAA Zone Championship qualifying score of 337.95 in the 3-Meter Springboard. Dylan is the first Iona male diver to ever qualify for an NCAA Regional event. Riccio also took the 1-Meter event with a score of 284.93.
  
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Patch Robinson, Saint Peter's

Patch Robinson delivered an impressive week, collecting four event victories and three silvers across the Peacocks’ meets against Manhattan and Iona. Robinson opened his week with wins in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.82) and 400 IM (4:20.02), and second in the 200 butterfly (2:00.39) and 400 freestyle relay (split: 49.32). He carried that momentum into the road meet at Iona, where he swept the mid-distance freestyle events with wins in the 200 free (1:46.56) and 500 free (4:47.85), and added a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle relay (leadoff: 23.44).
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Paige Austin-Burrows, Saint Peter's

Sophomore Paige Austin-Burrows delivered a dominant week in the pool, totaling five event victories and one silver across dual meets against Manhattan and Iona. She opened the week with two individual wins versus Manhattan, taking gold in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.26, PB) and 100 butterfly (58.48). Austin-Burrows followed that effort with a dominant showing at Iona, sweeping the 100 butterfly (59.51), 100 IM (1:01.80, PB), and anchoring the winning 200 freestyle relay with the fastest split on the team (25.26), while also adding a silver earlier in the meet (200 Medley butterfly Relay).
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Emma Todd, Iona
Jr., Wichita, KS, Andover
 
Junior diver Emma Todd, claimed the top spot on both the 1 and 3-meter Springboard events with tots of 227.02 and 220.80 in the meet vs Saint Peter's.
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Paige Fiorino, Iona
Fr., Troy, MI, St Thomas of Villanova
 
Paige Fiorino had an outstanding meet, capturing three first-place finishes. She helped lead her team to victory in the 200 medley relay with an impressive 24.79 split on a 1:48.90 finish. Paige also dominated her individual events, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.00 and the 100 freestyle in a strong 54.85.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 11-14, 2026, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2026 will mark the third straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
