Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Lance Hayes, Sacred Heart

Hayes competed in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday and emerged victorious in the 600 meters with a 1:20.82 clocking. Not only did the redshirt senior best a field of 67 entries, but he also broke his own school record in the event by more than a second. Hayes set his old record of 1:21.90 in last year's Seahawk Shootout.
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Benjamin Cicchitelli, Sacred Heart
FY., Smithfield, RI, Smithfield
While competing in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Cicchitelli unleashed a personal best heave of 14.78 meters (48' 6") in the shot put to place 6th in a field of 67 competitors. The rookie topped his prior best by more than a foot and moved into second place in the MAAC rankings with his performance.

Michael Maresca, Sacred Heart
FY., Staten Island, NY, Monsignor Farrell High School
Maresca opened his rookie indoor campaign at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout. The Staten Island native placed 4th out of 63 finishers in the Mile run with a new personal best of 4:20.94. Maresca's time vaulted him to the top of the MAAC standings in the event by more than a second.
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Sierra Thompson, Sacred Heart
So., Wakefield, RI, South Kingston High School
Thompson set a new Sacred Heart school record in the 300 meters, while competing in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday. The sophomore blazed the 1 ½ lap race in 40.04 seconds to best the previous record of 40.26, which dated back to 2016. Later in the day, Thompson anchored SHU's 4 x 200 meter relay team to the 2nd fastest time in program history with a 1:42.83 clocking. Thompson led a quartet that included teammates Julia MacLaine, Annalise Nassy, and Jillian Audette by recording the team's fastest 200 meter split of 24.6 seconds.
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Kaitlyn Caraco, Sacred Heart
So., Reading, MA, Reading Memorial High School
Caraco had a career day in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. She started off by tying her personal best of 1.68 meters (5' 6") in the high jump, which also equals the ECAC qualifying standard for the event. Caraco placed 2nd out of 30 competitors, losing only to teammate Lauryn Piccirelli who beat her based on having fewer misses. The sophomore now sits in a 4-way tie atop the MAAC rankings in the high jump, along with Piccirelli and two Quinnipiac athletes. Later in the day, Caraco recorded a new personal best of 11.77 meters (38' 7 ½") in the triple jump to place 2nd in a field of 23. Her mark moved her into first place in the MAAC rankings, as she narrowly missed the automatic ECAC standard of 11.85 meters.
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Alivia Schweibinz, Sacred Heart
FY., Manalapan, NJ, Manalapan
Schweibinz, who is the reigning MAAC Cross Country Rookie of the Year, continued her strong first-year campaign right into the indoor season on Friday. Competing in her first collegiate 3000 meters in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout, the rookie traversed the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex track in a new personal best of 10:04.04. Schweibinz's performance placed her 4th in field of 32 finishers. More importantly it moved her to the top of the MAAC rankings in the 3000, just over 10 seconds ahead of Quinnipiac's Alessandra Zaffina, who is defending MAAC champion in the event.
The 2025 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-22, 2026, at the Nike Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York, New York. The two-day meet will be hosted by Manhattan University and will be held at The Armory for the 22
