Bruno Loch Varella had a 4-0 week, spurring the Saints to a pair of victories against Colgate and Holy Cross. Loch Varella teamed up with Mateja Stefanovic at the doubles No. 3 position to earn a 6-3 win against the Holy Cross duo of Colton Parker and Will Donnelly. In singles play, he topped Parker 6-4, 6-2. On Saturday, Loch Varella teamed with Stefanovic to defeat the Colgate team of Jerome Falcon and Parker McGowan 6-2 at the doubles #3 position. In singles play, Loch Varella beat Tim Vargas 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 4 position.
Women’s Player of the Week
Ava Nelson, Sacred Heart
FY., Elk River, MN, Elk River
Ava Nelson went 2-0 in singles and doubles in a 1-0 week for Sacred Heart against Lehigh. Nelson teamed up with Malena del Olmo at second doubles and cruised to a 6–2 victory. Nelson dominated at No. 1 singles with a commanding 6–3, 6–0 win over Fortunes.
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Savita Bagirathan, Sacred Heart
FY., Coral Springs, FL, Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School
Savita Bagirathan went 2-0 in singles and doubles in a 1-0 week for Sacred Heart against Lehigh. Bagirathan and Brooke Tuffs paired up at the third doubles position and picked up a 6–4 win to clinch the point. In singles, Bagirathan earned a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 2, rebounding from a first-set tiebreak loss to defeat Dogadalova 6–7 (3), 6–4, 6–4.
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a four-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-26 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2026 Championships will be the 14
