Siena’s Loch Varella and the Quinnipiac Duo of Renton and Meng Named Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Weekly Awards Winners

Bruno Loch Varella teamed with Mateja Stefanovic to defeat Luke Ollivierre and Dilraj Singh Dhillon of St. Bonaventure 6-1 at the No. 3 doubles position and also won his No. 4 singles slot against Alex Kim 6-3, 6--1 to aid Siena in a 4-0 win against the Bonnies this past Sunday at Tri-City Fitness in Latham. Loch Varella is 5-4 overall in singles play and 5-3 in doubles competition this season. 
 
Women’s Player of the Week
Willow Renton, Quinnipiac
So., Goshen, KY, North Oldham High School
 
Willow Renton swept the weekend against Bryant, earning her first singles win of the season and second doubles win of the season with partner Caitlin Flower. Renton defeated Yahli Noy: 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(8-6) and the team of Natalia Vela / Marie Jose Hernandez: 6-4.
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Emily Meng, Quinnipiac
FY., Orlando, FL, Boone High School
 
Emily Meng earned her first career singles and doubles win of the spring season against Bryant. Meng defeated Lisa Dugec: 6-3, 6-4. The team of Meng / Anagha Shankar defeated Lisa Dugec / Lucia Pino: 7-6.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a four-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-26 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2026 Championships will be the 14th consecutive time the event is held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
