EDISON, NJ (Aug. 20, 2025) – The 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s soccer regular season begins on Thursday, August 21 with all 13 MAAC squads taking the pitch on opening day.
12 out of the league’s 13 teams will hit the road on opening day, starting with Canisus University visiting VMI in Lexington, VA at 3:00 p.m. The four o’clock hour will feature half the league, with six total units set for first kick off during the late afternoon time. Highlighting 4:00 p.m. are the lone home MAAC team of the day in Merrimack College, who will welcome Saint Joesph’s to North Andover, MA and Rider University traveling to Philadelphia to take on Villanova. The final six games take place after 6:00 p.m., with four of the games kicking off in primetime. MAAC defending champions and preseason favorites, Iona University kick starts its title defense at 7:00 p.m. in Kingston, RI against URI, while preseason top five teams in Marist University (at Stony Brook, 7:00 p.m.) and Quinnipiac University (at Pitt, 8:00 p.m.) also take the field.
Opening week concludes on Sunday with two 3:00 p.m. contests on the schedule. The Merrimack Warriors will once again be at home, this time hosting Holy Cross, while Canisus will remain in the state of Virginia, facing ACC foe, Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

The 2025 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 9-16, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 9, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 13, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 16.
