Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Award Winners Announced

Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Luke Mesco, Rider

Mesco won the 500-free and 1,000-free in Rider's dual win over Canisius with times of 4:53.41 and 10:14.17. He was also second in the 200-fly with a swim of 1:56.61 and anchored Rider's winning 400-free relay team. Mesco was second in the 500-free against Fordham with a time of 4:45.23 and fourth in the 200-free with a swim of 1:45.31.
 
Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Victor Fuentes, Saint Peter's

Victor Fuentes delivered a strong performance at Saturday’s dual meet against Manhattan, leading the Saint Peter’s men’s squad with four podium finishes as the Peacocks swept the Jaspers on both the men’s and women’s sides. Fuentes’ efforts were highlighted by two individual gold medals, an individual silver, and a relay victory. Fuentes was a key contributor to the winning 200-yard medley relay, helping the Peacocks touch the wall in 1:38.17. Individually, he swept the breaststroke events, winning the 50-yard breaststroke in 27.59 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.14, being the only swimmer under a minute in the event. He capped off his day with a silver medal in the 100-yard individual medley, clocking a season-best time of 57.57.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Steven Figueroa, Rider
So., Whittier, CA, La Serna High School
 
Figueroa won both boards in Rider's dual meet against Canisius, scoring 232.35 on the 1-meter and 253.20 on the 3-meter. Against Fordham, the sophomore was second on the 1-meter behind only teammate Stavros Xantheas scoring 233.10 and was third on the 3-meter with a score of 263.78.
  
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Joey Milhomens, Rider
Fr., Wolcott, CT, Wolcott
 
Milhomens won the 200-back and the 200-IM in Rider's dual win at Canisius. He swam 1:55.90 in the 200-back and a then season-best 2:00.12 in the 200-IM. He was fourth in the 100-back against Fordham with a time of 53.08 and improved his season-best in the 200-IM to 1:58.19 for third.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Gwendolyn Mendez, Saint Peter's
So., Stillwater, OK, Stillwater
 
Gwendolyn Mendez opened the 2026 calendar year with a standout performance, leading Saint Peter’s with four gold medals—including three individual victories—at Saturday’s dual meet against Manhattan, as the Peacocks swept the Jaspers on both the men’s and women’s sides. Mendez was a key member of the winning 200-yard medley relay, helping the Peacocks touch the wall in 1:52.72, nearly three seconds ahead of the field. Individually, she swept the breaststroke events, winning the 50-yard breaststroke by nearly four seconds (33.25) and the 100-yard breaststroke by more than two seconds (1:10.15). She capped her dominant day with a commanding victory in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 10 seconds ahead of the competition in a season-best time of 2:18.70.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Campbell Dopler, Rider
Fr., Bettendorf, IA, Bettendorf
 
Dopler won the 1-meter and was second in the 3-meter in Rider's dual meet against Canisius. The Freshman scored 214.80 on the 1-meter and 187.05 on the 3-meter. Against Fordham, she scored 230.78 on the 1-meter and 238.88 on the 3-meter.
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Donja Tripp, Rider
Fr., Bethlehem, PA, Notre Dame High School
 
Tripp was second in the 50-free and fourth in the 100-free with times of 25.21 and 57.50 against Canisius. Against Fordham, she was second in the 50-free with a time of 24.79 and fifth in the 100-free with a time of 56.72.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 11-14, 2026, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2026 will mark the third straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
