EDISON, NJ (Feb. 25, 2026) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), today announced the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year winners, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Sacred Heart University head coach, Christian Morrison, was voted as the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. This past weekend, Morrison guided the Sacred Heart men's indoor track and field team to its first MAAC Championship in program history. The Pioneers delivered a dominant and well-rounded performance, totaling 114 points to secure the team crown. Additionally, the Pios’ Gavin Alvarez was named Track Rookie of the Meet.
Quinnipiac University head coach, Carolyn Martin, was unanimously chosen as the MAAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. Martin led the Bobcats to the women's indoor track and field championship for the first time in program history. The Bobcats totaled 173.5 points, the most in program history in the meet, running away from the competition en route to team title. Izzie Anzaldo earned both Most Outstanding Women's Track Performer and Most Valuable Performer, winning the titles in the 200m, 400m and the 4x400 relay to lead Quinnipiac at the meet.
