Quinnipiac’s Watson and the Sacred Heart Trio of Daria, Grove, and Carney Win the First MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards of 2026

Offensive Player of the Week
Nate Watson, Quinnipiac
Jr., New Brunswick, Canada, Pomfret School
 
Nate Watson registered five goals and three assists in the Bobcats' season opener, helping lead Quinnipiac to a win on the road at UMass Lowell. The sophomore scored three times in the first half, then found the back of the cage twice in the fourth quarter to help QU clinch a victory.

Defensive Player of the Week
Craig Daria, Sacred Heart

In his first career start, Craig Daria led Sacred Heart to a 16-11 season-opening victory over Stony Brook. Daria made a career-high 16 saves in the win and posted a save percentage of .593.
 
Face-off Specialist of the Week
Ryan Grove, Sacred Heart

Ryan Grove went 22-29 on the face-off x to help Sacred Heart take down Stony Brook 16-11 in the season opener.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jake Carney, Sacred Heart
FY., Ridgefield, CT, Ridgefield
 
First year Jake Carney scored a hat trick in his collegiate debut as Sacred Heart defeated Stony Brook 16-11. Carney also picked up two ground balls and one caused turnover in the win.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship is a five-team, single-elimination championship taking place from April 26 through May 2, 2026. The first round will be hosted by the #4 seed, the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the top overall seed.
