Men’s Player of the Week
Calum Jessett, Fairfield
Jr., Keinton Mandeville, England, Millfield School
Calum Jessett went 4-0 for the Stags this past week. In singles action, he earned a win at #3 at Fordham and another victory at #4 in Tuesday's conference victory over Rider. Jessett teamed with Alex Aguiar to post a 2-0 mark on the doubles courts, winning in the top flight against Fordham and at #2 against Rider.
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Martin Macias, Sacred Heart
FY., Miami, FL, FLVS High School
Macias went 2-0 at #5 singles in a 2-0 week for Sacred Heart against Merrimack and Quinnipiac to get back to .500 in MAAC play. Versus Merrimack, Macias put the Pioneers in front early with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Against Quinnipiac, he outlasted his opponent in three sets, winning 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
Women’s Player of the Week
Willow Renton, Quinnipiac
So., Goshen, KY, North Oldham High School
Willow Renton posted a 4-0 record over the weekend against Sacred Heart and New Haven, competing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with partner Caitlin Flower. The sophomore secured her seventh singles win and eighth doubles win of the season. Against Sacred Heart, Renton battled back after dropping the first set to defeat Ola Irla-Bartyzel 6-7 (7-5), 6-2, 10-3. She also teamed up with Flower to earn a 6-3 victory in doubles over Irla-Bartyzel and Olivia Zuba. Against New Haven, the sophomore earned her singles win in straight sets against Valentinna Ferrarini 6-4, 6-2 while also picking up a 6-1 doubles victory against the team of Ferrarini and Addison Rosser.
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Emily Meng, Quinnipiac
FY., Orlando, FL, Boone High School
Emily Meng went 2-0 against New Haven on Saturday, competing at No. 6 singles and No. 2 doubles alongside partner Anagha Shankar. The first-year earned her third singles win and sixth doubles win of the season. Meng and Shankar opened with a 6-2 doubles victory over the team of Pierina Lescher and Leni Bischof before Meng followed with a straight-sets singles win over Bischof, 6-0, 6-0.
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a four-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-26 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2026 Championships will be the 14
