Canisius Sweeps Northeast Beef MAAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
JC Spinosa, Canisius
Jr., Bethleham, PALiberty High School
 
Junior JC Spinosa was a force for the Griffs at the plate, batting .600 (6-for-10), tallying five RBI and three runs scored. During Saturday's doubleheader, the juniors' four hits all came with two outs. Spinosa also hit a triple in every game of this weekend's series, and tallied his second home run of the year in game two.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Felix Morin, Canisius
Sr., Quebec, Canada, Blyth Academy
 
Senior Felix Morin posted a strong performance in Friday's series opener against Saint Peter's. In 7.0 innings of work, Morin picked up his second win of the season, allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out six. Morin did not allow a base runner through the first three innings and faced the minimum batters through the game's first six innings en route to the win.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mark Rogers, Canisius
Fr., Ontario, Canada, Jacob Hespeler Secondary
 
Freshman Mark Rogers got the nod on the bump for the Griffs in the series finale, going 6.0 innings, tallying a career-high six strikeouts, and allowing just one run. Rogers picked up his third win of the season to improve to 3-2.
 
The 2026 MAAC Baseball Championship is a six-team double elimination championship that will take place at Heritage Financial Park in Wappingers Falls, NY on May 20-23, 2026. This will be the 14th time that the championship is hosted at the ballpark (previously named Dutchess Stadium), the most in MAAC history.
